Cowboy Mouth
I led the full creative execution for a series of promotional postcards and posters for Cowboy Mouth, the one-act play by Patti Smith and Sam Shepard, staged by the Mostly Grounded Theater Company. The goal was to create bold, expressive materials that captured the raw energy of the play while resonating with a local, theater-savvy audience.
Cowboy Mouth is intense, stripped-down, and emotionally charged. The visual identity needed to reflect that attitude without feeling overly polished or commercial, while still standing out in crowded community spaces where independent theater promotions often compete for attention.
The final designs balanced attitude and clarity—bold enough to stop people in their tracks, but legible and informative at a glance. Posters were optimized for street-level visibility, while postcards were designed to feel collectible and personal when handed out or mailed.
